Altland House Catering in Abbottstown

Pub was open. Fantastic lunch. Service was quick and pleasant. Nice atmosphere. Clean and organized.

I'm very disappointed by our experience. We have a child that's under 12 and asked to be seated outside on the patio. We were told they couldn't accommodate a table of three on the patio. Just 2s or 6. We easily could have sat at one of the smaller "two" top tables and brought a third chair over. I have a hard time understanding why they wouldn't do that.

Returned here after a year and we were disappointed, probably will not go back. We ate inside , it wasn't overly busy on a Sunday evening. Service was slow. My husband ordered French Onion soup as an appetizer, it was over 30 minutes before it came out and it was cold. Not even close to hot. He sent it back and about 10 minutes later a hot one arrived. I ordered the Shrimp and Arugula Florentine. It arrive with just 5 shrimp total, at best medium sized, on top a very large bed of fettuccine and sauce. While the flavor was fine, I think $24 for a noodle dish with only 5 shrimp and no sides is excessive. My husband had the Filet Mignon , it was cooked correctly and was tender, but served with a gravy over it which is a bit weird.  It was a hundred dollar dinner for two, in our opinion not worth the price.

Had lunch here with my parents and wife last week. The meal was terrific and Lexie took great care of us. The beer was good and tasted a few. I had the Brussel sprout salad and it was fantastic.

First time to the altland house and it was very good. Impressed with the Dwight D Eisenhower endorsement hanging on the wall as we waited to be seated. Be sure to get the grilled Brussel appetizer and pick from the specials menu as everything our party ordered was quite good. We will definitely be back in the future.

We love the pub downstairs, the first class dining on the main floor, the bar, and now we have recently used the catering service. All exceptional!

Nice place, had lunch on the porch. Full service bar, nice size menu. We had crab cakes and chicken parmigiana with pasta also French onion soup. Food was good service the same. Only problem is the traffic noise. Inside shouldn't be a problem. All and all nice place and we will be back.

I have not been to this restaurant in 15 or 20 years. But!!! Today I am here with my husband and we are both blown away!! Our service was quick and friendly, Dakota was wonderful!our food was excellent- No! - OUTSTANDING!  The wine was great and our server was very personable and very professional!   We will DEFINITELY return soon! And we drove over 15 miles to get here! We are ecstatic! Yes!!!!

The Altland House, I cannot say enough, the service, the cleanliness, the charm, THE FOOD were superior in every way, and it was more than reasonable in cost. One thing I did notice and LOVED was there were NO screaming, loud kids running, ruining the evening for other diners. The background music a pleasant and subtle making conversation possible without having to scream at each other. Perfect evening. Photo on the left was chicken and waffles, on the right was the meatloaf, both prepared and served perfectly.

First time visit but won't be the last! The food was very good and our waitress was wonderful! Quick service and reasonably priced. We will be back!!

Stopped in for dinner. They have a great menu to pick from. Very large portions and really good food. I would recommend the stop.

Food was amazing! My husband has the Salmon berry salad and the cheese just melted in your mouth, salmon was very moist and cooked perfectly and the dressing was so good. I had the burger with Bbq sauce and bacon. Really good, cooked perfectly and was delicious! They also brought us a serving of their homemade potato chips drizzled with basaltic vinegar and Parmesan cheese. Absolutely delicious. Service was great! We had a really good waiter! Highly recommend! We will stop again when we are up this way!

We ate on the outdoor patio. Tables were nicely spaced. The biggest downside was traffic noise. So many trucks going around the traffic circle. Food was pretty good. Service was a little slow. We enjoy the Altland House and look forward to coming back when we are comfortable eating inside again.

I really want to give this place a better review but after my 4th visit in 7 yrs, I still walk away feeling let down. The best thing here, besides the atmosphere, which is nice, are the homemade chips with balsamic drizzle and Parmesan powdered cheese. If I just had drinks and chips it would be decent. But the drinks...I didn't see any cocktails offered so I went with an Old Fashioned...I ordered premium whiskey. The pour was exact and garnished with a orange slice and maraschino cherry....it felt like the same boring drink my grandfather drank 50 yrs ago. With Sidney right down the street you'd think they'd pick 5 craft cocktails to do well. The meal, I played safe and ordered the Strip steak, medium. Came out a bit overcooked, but a nice cut of meat. Unfortunately to hide the lack of seasoning, it was covered with a ton of fried onions and a heap of bland, dry, mashed potatoes. The house steak sauce was a sweeter, less savory version of A1, but not bad. Lastly, the dessert menu was unremarkable and read like it was all froze...

The Altland house has fantastic food and service! I saw that it didn't have a super great rating that's why I wanted to make my own review. Please go back and try it again. They have been on point with everything!!! Love their wings! They will make sure you are satisfied!

Went there for an anniversary dinner and the bacon wrapped shrimp were awesome. I haven't tried the pub yet but I do want to go back and try it.

We had an amazing experience and wonderful food at the Altland House. They made our evening perfect. I have never had a crab cake that was so delicious. This is a definite must try.

We have hosted numerous family events over the years at the Altland House and this is because of the tremendous service and food! Highly recommend.

The Altland House is a family-run, super quaint and charming inn that is the only place that I stay at when I am in the area.  What makes this place so wonderful is the owners and the staff.  They will do anything and everything to make your stay wonderful. The food is plentiful and tasty.  Rooms are super cute and charming.  The only problem I have is dual romote controls that I always screw up, but they always fix it for me.  My bad. Expired yogurt for breakfast,  that's 12 days beyond its expiration date!  Kinda puts everything this place does in question!   I mean if your chef can't figure out the yogurt expired 12 days ago,  and still can't figure it out once the month changes from January to February there's really no hope.   I think I'd rather deal with the pain this yogurt would have caused me than return to this establishment knowing just how much attention they're paying to food safety.

Nice bread plate before meal...we had the French onion soup...delicious! Then the main meal was superb...followed by dessert....creme brulle....wow...talk about being full.....and to top it all off service was fast.

My salad was enough for TWO meals and was YUMMY!!!!
