Walked into the store today and the entrance was blocked off with a barrier and sign that said to wait to be let in. The worker was on the phone and just looked at us and didn’t say anything, we waited about 5 minutes and then finally left.

I have been to this store on two occassions. Each time I have come away with a new appreciation for the beauty of Japanese textile art and design. My first trip, last year, I purchased two Obi's and have worn them comfortably as a focal art to wear.Last week I purchased a silk Shibori jacket. Really beautiful and well fitted. The highlight of my visit is talking with proprieter Ronald Crawford who was willing to engage in the history and of both of these items which made the shopping experience even more special.I live in Marin County and look forward to another visit next year.

Searching for a new spot to check out near the office a couple coworkers and I were intrigued by Ancient Grounds. Serving as both a little coffee shop and gallery, there were tons of cool art pieces on display as well a little barista bar. I ordered a chai latte that was pretty good, definitely not the most spiced or flavorful chai I have ever had but they seemed to have a lot of milk alternative options such as Hemp. For the month of April, they seemed to have a lot of East Asian pieces such as kimonos and yukatas. Though these were on display at an art gallery type setting, the prices were extremely reasonable at around $25-$35 dollars a piece! Will definitely be here later in the week to scope them out for the annual Don Oberi festival here in Washington!
