Applebee's Grill + Bar in Erie

Went here for dinner on a Sunday late afternoon. Was seated promptly and waited for a server....and waited and waited. There were two waitresses standing around the hostess station. I asked one of the waitress' if we could get some water. They both looked at me like I was crazy, said they would get someone and beelined it for the doors to the kitchen. No water for and no server. I finally flagged down another waitress and asked to see the manager. The manager showed up just as a server finally showed. We ordered our drinks and spoke to the manager who gave us an excuse about our waiter being busy. I told her about the two waitresses that ignored my request for drinks and she did not seem to care. We finally ordered food. Waiter had to go ask somebody the price of a side order of broccoli. The price is not on the menu. Finally got our dinners( chicken was overcooked). Our waiter did a good job considering he seemed to be the only person busy in a sparsely populated restaurant. Service in this place has been bad as of late and now the food is not being properly prepared. It will be quite a while before we return here to dine.

I have always had a good experience...but this was not a good night. Workers were fighting in the kitchen...and we could hear them yelling at each other. I ordered mashed potatoes with my steak...got fries & my steak was not good. Our appetizer of boneless wings came out with 2 pieces of celery...both slimy & yucky. We were excited to use our gift card, but wished we had gone somewhere else. Waitress was fine, but others were not friendly. I hope they work these things out. I've always enjoyed eating here.
