First of all, the service was incredible. I need to actually go back and hand Madison and friends a bigger tip than my partner left. I'm sorry, but 23% wasn't enough, IMO. We were greeted by the maitre'd, who took my coat and showed us to our table. How fun to walk over the glass flooring over their extensive wine cellar! Madison came along promptly to take our drink orders and explain the specials. Her co-worker immediately followed her up to inquire if we preferred sparkling water over the tap water. I started with a dirty martini, up; my partners had Moscato, WHB ale and a Ruby cocktail (ruby port, cranberry, and orange vodka). We started with the dip trio, but swapped the spicy pepper dip for another tzatziki dip. That and the hummus was very thick and freshly made. They have THE BEST gluten free pita, as well, and gluten free is why we chose this place over many others (along with craving authentic Greek cuisine). They very well accommodate many years dietary restrictions, including all of mine. For appetizers, we had the grilled octopus (accompanied by fermented vegetables), and lamb "sliders " (or meatballs, if you will) . The grilled flavor was outstanding, and the lamb was well spiced. For entrées, we had 2 lamb chop specials, the lamb tenderloin, and this crazy porkchop, topped with haloumi (sp) cheese and fig compote. The greenbeans were lightly sautéed and still had a bit of snap to them, and the lemon potatoes are what dreams are made of! We shared a bottle of Santorini Sigalas Assyrtiko, which was divine. I had the mint chocolate...

We had the most wonderful experience at Athos. We had a family birthday party in the private dining room. The staff could not have been nicer and the food was incredibly delicious. Everyone had the best time and we cannot thank Athos enough! Fantastic!!
