Highly recommend! Must order beef rendang! Hainanese chicken, satay chicken! I would drive all the way from Katy for their food!

Forever my go to place for cheap Malaysian eats. Filling, tasty, and hits the spot every time. Other Malaysian restaurants have popped up over the years and might look fancier with their decor and food presentation, but the price is fancier as well and the portion often tiny. I've never had a problem with Banana Leaf and I've eaten here for over 5 years. My utmost favorite is the Char Kuey Teow, which is always sooo flavorful and more so once you mix in the shrimp paste. Aside from that, I highly recommend the Beef Rendang and Hainan Chicken. The Curry Beef Stew soup is my personal favorite but I believe the Laksa is a more popular choice.

First time eating at a Malaysian place! Pros: menu is very expansive, and there are many different dishes to choose from that all sounded and looked very tasty. The price is also very affordable and makes sense to what you pay. The speed of service is also very fast. Cons: I ordered two noodle dishes and while the flavors were okay, one of the noodle dishes tasted significantly more fresher/hotter compared to the other. It made me think one of the noodle dish was just reheated. Another thing is that near the end of eating the dish I felt slightly nauseous. Not sure if it was due to the dish I ordered but something just didn't sit right with me. I will have to check it out once more and try something else in the future.
