A friend and I stumbled upon Boat Bar because we suddenly decided that we were, and I quote, "looking for something fancy and sophisticated" while wandering Capitol Hill. I took one look at the menu, realized that I had no idea what half of it was, and happily wandered in to join the waitlist. When we arrived, most tables were already reserved and we were quoted a 15 minute wait time, and told that we would be texted once our spot at the bar was ready. After hanging outside for 20 minutes, we didn't get a text so we walked inside anyway and they immediately sat us. I suppose their software was acting up, which happens to the best of us! Once seated we were offered a choice between sparkling and still water. I have never been given that option before, and having regular water referred to as 'still' really drove home the decad...

Enjoy this oyster place a lot. The wild shrimp of Cortez shrimp is very big and fresh. After we finished the shrimp they asked us if we want free bread to dip in. My personal favorite oyster is the oysters from Disco Hama, Lilliwaup, WA. It's juicy and sweet. The green sauce is made with cucumber and vinegar, it's very special and delicious. I love sitting at the oyster bar and looking at the man to open up oysters! They also reminded us several times that 20% of service fees are auto charged, very nice of them so I won't double pay!

I'm kicking myself for not frequenting Bar Melusine more regularly. We walked in for a late brunch at 1:30pm and were a little worried we would get rushed service or limited items as they close at 2pm. The hostess gladly sat us right away and our service executed every aspect with perfection. We ordered the chicory salad and mini burger "to start" because we wanted to get something on order right away then contemplate the rest of menu. We decided on Salmon Rillette and the quiche. After watching the gorgeous french fries walk by we then also through that at our server to fit in. We ended up getting everything perfectly spaced out and in the proper order of light food to heavier food with the burger as the grand finale. Nothing was rushed and every dish was executed perfectly. I give this place a 10/10 every time. I cannot wait to get here more regularly. The $12 burger is the best in seattle, hands down. We were starving when we arrived so eating and sharing 5 menu items was doable for us.
