We went for drinks, and I loved the place! Ambiance is chic and cozy, no dark and dimmed lights like other bars! Great for drinks and grabbing a bite

I moved to the neighborhood recently and Bar Vacilando has been at the top of my list of places to try. The aesthetic is amazing, totally something I'm into! We came in (a friend and I) and the entire front section was "reserved" for a party. The party had arrived and was eating their meal so why 5 tables were reserved (only 3 with cards designating they are reserved) for a party that is already eating is beyond me. Once we sat down it took awhile for a server to come by and she greeted us with "do you all know what you want to drink or do you need a few minutes." Having been a server I know the importance of making a connection with the table. I ordered the house wine and my friend had a club soda -- we decided to split a mushroom flatbread (it was amazing) and the brisket and mac'n'cheese. The brisket was fine. Nothing special. The mac'n'cheese was honestly the most bland I've ever had. The noodles were mush, and the béchamel sauce was so thin that it was more like a soup than a sauce. When our server asked how the meal was, I told her the mac'n'cheese was very bland to which she responded "would you like salt?". Salt, while helpful, doesn't make up for her lack of remorse for the kitchen's mistake and it seemed like my complain was written off.
