Bel-Mark has always been the family go-to. However, the bartender Janna was so incredibly kind and hard-working I just had to make a review! An absolute rockstar, we stan Janna.

I'm writing this review for my son. He is 23 and he and old high school buddies (all 23) went bowling. One friend put down $40 on lanes and shoes while he went and put $60 on food and beer. He was carded, fine. He gets carded most places, as he should. The owner (it turned out) completely scrutinized his Michigan license, quizzed him on when his birthday was, past it to the bartender to scrutinize, and then finally let him buy the beer. He felt like he'd never been treated like that. You can have a scanning system if you think IDs are faked but his is not and was taken recently because he just got a chauffeur's license. His other friend came up and same thing; completely scrutinized the ID, past it to the bartender (who seemed embarrassed) and then quizzed him on details. He came back to get another glass for the other friend from the bartender, who gave it to him and then went back to the lane. The owner came over and asked for his friend's Id. Also 23. You'd think he'd see a pattern at this point, that these men are the same age friends. He asked this young man to recite his birthday and for additional ID, which he had. Then he insisted he was already drunk and said he couldn't drink. He apparently based this on the fact that the young man seemed quiet and confused. My son and the other young man went to the bar and vouched for the fact that none of them had had anything to drink and eventually told them that the friend has Asperger's. The bartender and another employee talked to the owner (my son thought the other employee was his daughter because she really let him have it) but he still refused to serve the friend. This all happened in 5-10 minutes. They said that then they didn't want the lane, the food or the drink becau...

I came to Bel Mark Lanes last night with a group of friends. At 9pm on a Thursday we had to wait around 20 minutes for two lanes next to each other (not too bad compared to Revel and Roll, which was a 2 hour wait when we called ahead). 20 minutes wasn't too bad because we headed over to the bar and grabbed some drinks while we waited. They have some great beers on tap! (Oberon, Founder's, etc.) It is definitely a slightly outdated, divey bowling alley as some of the reviews so far have suggested. I can also confirm that the manager gets heated when you make a mistake...one of my friends threw the ball too soon and accidentally hit the bar in front of the pins and it was as if one of the workers was watching us, waiting for this to happen because he immediately came running out, yelling at us to be more careful! Somewhat rude, but he didn't curse at us as the other reviews mentioned. That being said, we still had a great time bowling here. The rest of the staff and the bartenders were friendly and helpful. I could see myself going back!
