Best pizza place in Richmond

10.0/10 Rating average Published 2 years ago | Google

This has become my favorite place in town. Staff is super friendly and the food is delicious. (Get the fried ravioli). Got part of a wrong order one time and they comped the whole meal which was unnecessary but super cool of them.

What kind of person doesn't like pizza??? A weirdough!! Thanks for the pun John G.  Now THAT'S a slice of pizza!! While walking in this Fan neighborhood, taking photos of the artistic murals on the surrounding buildings, our noses were captured and lured to Belmont Pizzeria... it smelled enticing!  We snapped the picture of the "king pizza playing card" mural under the neon "PIZZA & SUBS" sign and followed our olfactory receptors to the front of the restaurant!   This tiny, obscure pizza joint is all but tucked away in this eclectic district of the Fan. It's not much to look at, frankly; it's next door to some huge dumpsters sprayed with graffiti and a pile of pallets bestrewn on the ground.  It's nondescript exterior isn't worth a second glance... but it's not the eyes that will attract you to this eatery, it's the nostrils!! At first we thought the place was closed because it was so dark and dingy inside... there was a wrought iron table in front of the door which bore a sign stating it was only open for takeout due to Covid.  The aroma escaping from the restaurant was so intense, our sudden craving for pizza had to be quelled.  We dialed the number on the sign and asked for two slices of Italian sausage and cheese pizza.  Since we were walking around the streets, we didn't want a whole pizza, and we were glad they sold "by the slice"!  It felt like we were in New York City at one of those walk up pizza joints.   The nice dude that took our order said it would be 5 minutes, so we walked around the block a couple times and then came back to retrieve our grub!  We were expecting a triangular shaped box that fits one slice of normal sized pizza... but he handed us a whole pizza box!  When we opened it, to our pleasant surprise, the "slices" were...
