In general, Black Eyed Pea is a great place to get a break from the standard sports-bar type, corporate ran, chain restaurants while still eating at a well known restaurant chain. The calm, quiet atmosphere is a great way to have a relaxing homemade dinner without making a homemade dinner. The food at any location is usually pretty good but the location at 88th & Wadsworth.... OMG people!! The rolls & cornbread are always super moist! Best I've ever had (except down south of course), so good you don't even need butter or honey! The sweet corn is the perfect level of sweet but not too sweet! The mashed potatoes are salted perfectly...

Man, this place is wonderful! I got the chicken fried chicken w/ jalepeno cream gravy, I highly recommend it. The rolls, cornbread, fried okra and mashed potatoes were delicious as well!The service was awesome, you can tell they take good care of their people. This means a lot to me, and is a rarer sight than it should be, and an investment that pays off.Don't doordash these folks, just call the store directly if you need delivery and save yourself some money.I can't recommend this place enough.
