I grew up playing hockey in little rinks. Places like Downers Grove, Saint Spectrum, and this one, Addison Ice. They were never really big and fancy and that's what made them charming. The smell of sheet rubber and zamboni exhaust coupled with cold beer, stale whiskey and crushed out cigarettes would cling to the air and hug your nostrils, reminding you of early morning or late night practices. But that was from a far away time. It's not something you see very often unless you're out in the boonies at some rural rink. Long story short, that small rink experience is rare and seldom paired with a decent food & beer stop experience. I felt that nostalgia when I saw Blue Line come up on my discovery page in Addison. Great burgers, great nachos! It's hard to find a good place for a burger but blue line is it! And their home made chips are so good!
