The first time we had Bo Ne in Houston is at Tan Ba Le which became Bo Ne Houston at the same location. Due to nostalgia, we still like to visit this original location when we are craving Bo Ne. We got the Bo Ne Combo that comes with the staple Steak and Eggs, but with extra Sausage, Lap Xuong, and Xiu Mai. I first lather a piece of Baguette with Butter and Pate, then pick up a Steak strip and devour the whole thing. I would use the Baguette to do all sorts of naughty things like soaking it in the bowl of Xiu Mai, letting the runny Egg Yolk drench the bread, and smashing a piece into the cast iron skillet to pick up all the Maggie Seasoning sauce and charred Fat. So many cafes and restaurants have since then served different versions of Bo Ne since it was introduced to Houston. To me, Bo Ne is one of the cultural dishes, a mainstay that showcases the diverse city of Houston. We are lucky to have some of the best Vietnamese food in this city, even my wife from Paris says the Vietnamese food here is better than Paris that has a robust Vietnamese population.

We went and tried the bo ne Houston $14.50 and Thit Nurong BBQ pork $5 and 2 ca phe sausage da for $4.25. Thought the bo me was good ... check out photos for portion size.  BBQ sandwich wasn't a fav it was ok but bread was good just didn't have too much flavor to the meat.  Ca phe sua da tasted a bit watered down.  Still we enjoyed it and this place sells the Vietnamese ham and bread on the side.
