This little piece of Heaven is located in the beautifully, eclectic neighborhood of Temescal. There a plethora of fine restaurants on this side of  Telegraph, from Korean b-b-q, to pizza . This was my first time,  but it surely won't be my last! My son had been to their Alameda-based place, so his mind-set was based on whose Tea Leaf  Salad ranked the best in authenticity and taste. We were fortunate to be served by a very kind and informative waiter. He explained to us that the aforesaid dish was indeed served for special guests in Burma . He later asked how were we enjoying our food, which also included Salt and Pepper fried calamari with a spicy red sauce which was both hot and sweet. Oh, I almost forgot to mention that the TLS was plated on a unique and beau...

10/10. Fantastic food. Maybe the best I've ever had in this genre

After years of wanting to try the highly talked about tea leaf salad.. I had a moment to come here before we departed the bay area. I don't know which venue came first for sure.. but I knew of the one in the city.. was happy to find one in Alameda on my way to the airport to kill some time.  i think the alameda one is newer.. Oh Alameda has changed so much .. in .. the decades since visiting there. This little area of Alameda has the most adorable little shops and lots of places to eat.  I would love to come back and peruse the other venues here! And boy does Burma Superstar fill up fast.  If you're a local, you might already know to order the take out and head home to enjoy the delicious eats.  For us without home in the area.. you gotta come before their dinner hour and with a reasonably group of folks.  We had 4 adults and were seated right away coming just at opening.  The tables filled up super fast. Family feast!! SO happy to see that they offered a preset family feast menu (I love when restaurants offer this!).  It included: (1) Tea Leaf Salad (Traditional):  Perhaps this was hyped up too much for me.  I dunno what i was...
