We had a great night out recently where we were craving something different, but authentic. This was our first experience at Cafe Rustika and it won't be the last! I had the chicken schnitzel a la holstein and it was DELICIOUS! Everything is made to order so it takes a little to get the food, but it's worth the wait! And the portion sizes are gracious (love having leftovers from an amazing meal). On top of all that the service was great!

We were visiting with our friends and wanted to go to the restaurant. We phoned and were informed they don’t take reservations which was fine. We were told there was a 45 minute wait. Well we walked from the Quirk hotel and and when we arrived we were greeted by an employee who was extremely rude. We were told there was no way they could seat us even though 15 minutes before we were told it would be no problem. There were 3 open tables which easy seat the 4 of us. The greeter said the tables were taken and to go somewhere else for dinner. We did and had a pleasant time at a nearby restaurant. Every time we go to Richmond we go to this restaurant but never again.

I am not an expert on German cuisine, but I have traveled there quite a few times. I had heard about Cafe Rustika, but had never been. That was a big mistake. The food was excellent. I had the Sauerbraten with blaukraut and spatzle. I would go back for the blaukraut alone. Who knew cabbage could be so good. There were a lot of other things I would like to try, so I will definite go back. The atmosphere is informal and true to the German cuisine. Great comfort food if you are up for something different.
