We just had a wonderful meal at Caffe Utopia. We live in Del Ray and for many years enjoyed the Ethiopian food at the Caboose Cafe until it closed a few years ago. We had been trying to find another favorite Ethiopian restaurant and found it tonight. Four of us ordered a vegetarian platter, a 3-meat combo platter and a fir fir special. We asked for it family style with injera. All was delicious, the service was friendly and prompt. Pleasant atmosphere. We will definitely return. Highly recommend to others who, like us, may have driven past many times but not stopped to try it out.

Caffe Utopia & Bar is phenomenal!!! I had never eaten Ethiopian food before and WOW! Everything they serve is organic and all of the beef is grass fed! I highly recommend the meat lover. We got the filet, lamb, and salmon for the meat and collard greens and the mushroom stew as sides. Absolutely amazing. While we were eating, the staff brought out an order of lentils, and they were one of the best things I’ve ever eaten. The spice in the food is delightfully hot (just enough to know it’s there, not enough to bother anyone who isn’t too great with spices, like myself) and the flavors leave you wanting more. On top of all of that (as if it wasn’t enough already), the staff is extremely kind and generous and makes you feel like family. I would highly recommend and will be returning very soon!
