I went in with no expectations and was completely blown away with how good the food was. Hands down the best fried plantains I've ever had. They were fried but didn't have a ton of excess oil like so many places that serve plantains in the area. The Waakye was really good. I didn't know what I was getting into when I ordered it but I was glad I did. Really good food and a relaxed atmosphere makes me want to go back.

Food and service was top notch! We tried the spicy beef skewers, Banku with spinach and chicken, Fufu with chicken peanut butter soup, Wakye with fish. This is a family owned restaurant and the owners were all extremely welcoming. We came on a quiet Thursday night so one of the owners, Tony, had time to answer our questions about what foods we should try. He taught us about the handwashing ritual, talked to us about the art decor in the restaurant, and showed us what a calabash is!I cannot thank them enough for being so fun and welcoming us like we were family. I will definitely be back

This place use to be a cool place to hang but suddenly they become very rude. All the seats are "sold out" but no one sitting in them. The whole vibe is just off. I live out of state and I use to love this place but I'm never coming back. Save your money there are better places to go clubbing in the D.C area plus this Calabash place it Tiny!!!! NOT WORTH THE RUDENESSOwner Responded. And Alas I'm Glad There are million other places to go to thanks For Competition!!!My friends and I will Go Somewhere else
