Small and a little off the beaten path but all fresh ingredients make their pies a standout. Would give it an extra star but I'm from Bergen County and the bar is high

Camisa is easily one of the best pizzerias in New Jersey. The pizza at this place goes toe-to-toe with legendary NYC pizzerias like Joe's in Greenwich Village and Di Fara's in Brooklyn. Not to mention their bruschetta, buffalo wings, and mozzarella sticks, which are always fresh and delicious. And they have unique menu items that you won't find anywhere else, like their lasagna dip and their toasted meatball buns. If you haven't tried the food at this place yet, do yourself a favor and do so asap.

Creativity meets responsibility. In NJ, it appears useless to look at menus for pizzerias and diners. You know what's on there. Then there's those slice houses that try to stand out. Doing so sometimes enters the realm of ridiculousness, resulting in pizza that appears confused, overwhelmed, or downright silly to the point that you have to try it out of novelty value, but do you really want to eat like that all the time? Do you like being able to see your shoes when you look down at the ground after the feeling of shame resulting from a gluttonous experience like I just mentioned? Even if you do right now, it won't last. Enter Camisa Pizza - a haven for those who like to step out of their comfort zone without coming back to reality beaten, bruised, and bloated. There's a level of uniqueness throughout their menu that brings a smile to your face and doesn't end in tears of regret. Their Detroit-style pizza for example: a square pie with a different kind of crust bringing an exterior crisp which lies beneath a soft, elegant blanket of contrasted texture topped with an immaculate sauce to cheese ratio that perhaps will pave the way for other shops to copy and put on their pie menu. Their specialty pies, one of which celebrates the ever-forgotten and highly underrated anchovy, and appetizers like lasagna dip and meatballs wrapped in pizza dough. This place is pioneering without showing off. A humble establishment testing new limits by tip-toeing on the other side of the line, but not abounding over it obnoxiously. Tip of the hat to Camisa. Thank you for your courage to shake up NJ with your ingenuity. We all need a visit here to wrap our heads around what's truly possible if we all just think a little differently.
