the barbacoa tacos were extremely greasy and the hot sauce dominated all the flavor. service was non existent since it was like a counter order style. it was really basic and unremarkable.

Such an awesome place!!!Stopped in after the Niners and Cowboys playoff game and immensely enjoyed the customer service, food, and drinks. If ever in town again I would absolutely revisit, and would most definitely recommend others to stop in as well.

You would think that a restaurant would have its best workers during the COVID pandemic. However, at Cartel Taco Bar, this is not the case. We arrived around 9:40p and told the woman behind the register that we've never been here before. She just stared at us. My friend then asked whether they offer wine. She said, "At the bar," and then continued staring. We ordered two fajita tacos and refried beans. I went to the bar to get wine, and the bartender told me he had just said last call. Why had his coworker not said anything about this? I can't imagine a good reason. It took a while to get my wine, but the fact I got wine at all is, in my opinion, a plus. Y'know at least the bartender recognized that I had just got there and couldn't have known he had said last call. So I get the wine and wait for our food. The tacos were fine. We had to ask...
