Ceron Kitchen in Alameda

Tried Ceron for the first time tonight and I gotta say, this place is disappointing for what they are trying to be-- which is a high-end San Francisco style fine dining restaurant. Ceron clearly has an identity problem. I don't think it's unreasonable to have high expectations when I'm paying $58 per entree and Ceron simply didn't deliver. I'd been to the restaurant when it was Otaez, so I was eager to see what they did with the place. The space is huge and it always had a cafeteria vibe. Just wandered in to check it out and we were overwhelmed with the food.  The appetizer with yellow tail and citrus almost made us cry.  Husband, a fish snob, said it might be the best halibut he ever had.  Steak was Harris Ranch quality.  Melt in my mouth. Little taster of pumpkin soup was brought from the kitchen.  Ok, it's pricey.  Quite pricey for Alameda.  But I will be going back.

i've been patiently waiting for Ceron Kitchen to open and it did not disappoint! you know it's going to be good when you start with amuse-bouche! my date enjoyed her warm tomato and burrata while i ordered the hamachi. the presentation almost made it too pretty to eat! for dinner she raved about her flatiron steak and said the chimichuri was fantastic! i had the filet and it was cooked perfectly! we both finished our plates! for dessert we each ordered the hazelnut one and it was the BOMB! service was excellent, thanks Jesus! the ambiance is per...
