Let me preface this review by emphasizing that I am an avid patron of Lalo's Cocina Bar & Grill, located at 2617 W Broad St, Richmond, VA 23220. I have frequented their establishment - both dine-in and take-out - for years and have NEVER suffered the disappointment that I did upon my first and last encounter with their sister establishment, Chicano's Cocina Bar & Grill, located at 523 E Main St, Richmond, VA 23219. Upon visiting the website for Lalo's Cocina Bar & Grill, I noticed that there were several other restaurants featured, one of which was Chicano's Cocina Bar & Grill. After visiting the website and subsequently noticing that their menu was all but identical to that of Lalo's Cocina Bar & Grill, and assuming the experiences would be similar, I decided (albeit, against the better judgement of my accompanying partner) to give them a try. That was my first mistake. Upon entry into the establishment on Monday, July 5th between approximately 4:34 PM and 4:40 PM, my first observation was that it was completely empty with the exception of a single patron who was seated at the bar - that should have been my first indication of what was to follow. My partner and I were instructed to seat ourselves at the booth of our choosing. So, we did. Shortly thereafter, a female server presented herself to take our drink orders.
