China 1 in Andrews

Used to be so much better! Used to be consistently awsome. Last couple times have been a disappointment with wrong items in takout order, food not as fresh...and that yummy lemongrass ginger soy sauce that came with the fried dumplings is now a strong garlic soy that overcomes eveything it touches. Sadly our favorite China1 is just not up to the same standards as it was before.

Ordered from this place today to try and give the new owners a chance. Make sure you check your order! The person on the phone clearly did not understand English. We ordered three items and one of the items was incorrect. We ordered pork lo mein and instead got what we thought might have been sweet-and-sour chicken without the sweet-and-sour sauce. I ordered pork egg foo yong and it was the worst I've ever had. Was dry and overcooked and the gravy on it was a dark brown and tasted terrible. We also ordered sesame chicken that was decent but not great.  The eggrolls were good. When we called the place to let them know that they gave us the wrong order, the first person who answered the phone couldn't understand us. The second person that got on the phone hung up on us. Very disappointing as we need a good Chinese place in the Murphy Andrews area.

Restaurant review rant: Went to eat with family at the China 1 in Andrews next to subway and after standing there for at least 5 minutes the young man finally noticed us and asked how many we asked to be seated in the room to the right as it's more private and away from the door so my grandmother would not get cold. They suggested we be seated at separate tables as we were a group of 12 and when we asked the owner if we could simply sit at an empty table with just a laptop at it and move a table to make it accommodate us he didn't understand what I was asking and again suggested we sit separately. Finally we left. Being in such an aggregated state with a large group and 2 kids my daughter left her Nabi there. I was almost certain and before I went back after we arrived home I called ahead to be sure. The young man on the phone simply asked someone else and never bothered to look.
