I already expected the food to be over priced. What I didn't expect was to wait in a 20 person line for 40 minutes. They get absurdly slow close to closing time.

Had the birria tacos and pozole. It was insanely delicious. Price was super fair compared to other places within the theme parks too. So good that we couldn't help buy another serving of it after the first one. Don't recommend going on the swinging ferris wheel right after though!

In the California Adventure Park is this gem of an eatery. The name is a mouthful ... Cocina Cucamonga Mexican Grill. But surprise, surprise.... the food is delicious. The Grill is located on the Pacific Wharf. When I visited, they accepted mobile ordering and walk ups. We ordered quesabirria tacos $11.50. You get 2 per plate with a generous bowl of consommé. The meat is braise beef, no goat. The consommé was flavorful! The taco shells were fried corn tortillas. Yum! All the tacos were larger than mini street taco size. Carne Asada tacos is $11. Citrus marinated streak filled in double layered corn tortillas with the fuego salsa served in separate containers. The al pastor ( pork) tacos were also filled in double layered corn tortillas $10. The pork is marinated in pineapple and achiote. The achiote gives it the red flavor and provides a peppery, nutty, and sweet taste. It gave the pork a slight instant faux heat at first taste that quickly went away. Jalapeño garlic salsa is provided for this plate. They even offer 1 plant based option. Potato tacos... Tacos Dorados de Papa. $9.50. The potatoes are fried ( bit deep fried) and topped with red cabbage slaw, drizzled with dairy free crema, and topped with tomatillo salsa. Picture perfect gorgeous presentation. These were so darn tasty. I luved the creaminess of the potatoes. This was my favorite with the beef birria tacos a close second. By the way besides the standard fountain sodas, they sell Modela, Michelda, seasonal margaritas, and horchata here. Cheers to that. Plus extra out...
