We were using a voucher received for a cancelled flight in the amount of 45.00. We were greeted nicely and as we were being sested were explained that would not cover the cost of their breakfast buffet. Which felt implied that there were no other options and we would need to pay the $30.00 difference at $25.00 each. So I asked what was the $15.00 option? Then I was shown the Continental portion of the buffet which was plentiful with much variety. Included coffee which they serve you and self juice, 2% or chocolate milk on ice, a super nice variety of  baked items from Alki Bakery, Blazing Bagels, a conveyer style toaster, oatmeal with toppings, a choice of the most delicious...

The Ancient Grains Oatmeal is advertised on the menu, as having "citrus maple syrup", but it is actually just artificial log cabin type syrup, ie a condiment. I asked if the compote had refined sugar in it, but the server didn't know. The chef called my room and said the compote does not have added sugar, and he also said they used to have citrus maple and they don't anymore and he's look into why that is, and was very nice. Removed my charges and wants the menu to reflect what they're serving. I ordered this take out and went to my room, where I used a small amount of honey from my own bag, because the servers wouldn't let me have a banana off the buffet, and mixed in the approximate 2 tablespoon size of yogurt (it did appear to be Greek) and same size compote. It was just ok. I do appreciate the chef, but the servers were not helpful at all. The actual grains were a nice variety, visible and tasted good. I would still say Starbucks oatmeal with nuts and craisins is much better.

Located in the DoubleTree, for breakfast, skip the buffet and split an omelette with everything for a delicious, perfectly sized meal.
