I have already written about Connect Lounge and how much I love this gathering place. Yet, now I write to extol their mixology skills. Julia mixed me a couple of cocktails that rivaled the most pretentious cocktail lounges in Seattle. It was surprising in the best way possible. Connect Lounge is comfy, in the same way that old chair or mixmatched couch is when it nestles your butt after a stressful or difficult day. It isn't that chair you bought to impress friends that has Milanese design and style but causes your sciatica pain in about ten minutes. There is no pretense at Connect Lounge. It has style, but designed for ease, not just appearance. Then I'm handed a cocktail that tastes like it was crafted by a bartender in a lounge on Via Montenapoleone in Milan. Are you kidding me? Connect Lounge has a uniqueness all its own and follows no template. It may be the best place to to imbibe with your own sense of self, confident to be cool, just being who you are.
