Wow, another great Seattle-area brewery to add to my ever-growing beer list. Tucked into the semi-industrial district off of Michigan St., I would never have even known Counterbalance existed if I hadn't seen it on Yelp. It's tucked into a tight space behind the new-ish Starbucks, with a small parking lot and a huge outdoor patio. I was SO excited to see they had one of my faves, a Vienna Lager, on tap. It was rich, malty, and delicious. In fact, I liked it so much I picked up a couple of handy 4-packs from their cooler to take home for sunny afternoon sipping. Bonus points for the stylish beer art adorning the walls - I don't know if this is a permanent thing, or if they rotate artists, but I was mighty tempted to purchase a piece or two to take home. I didn't try the on-site BBQ cart as it was pretttttty pricey. Nice job on the Vienna, Counterbalance. I'll be baaacccckkkk.

Not much to say, simply great beer and a cozy brewery environment. Always friendly and knowledgeable about their brews. The location may be a little strange, but it has its own kind of charm. Honestly my favorite brewery in Seattle as far as beer goes.
