It's not glitzy nor glamorous, but the Coyote Bluff Cafe was just the type of place I'd been searching for since I first stepped into Amarillo last week. It's a small hole-in-the-wall with the type of vibe that just makes you feel like you're welcome, regardless if you're a local or a tired girlfriend who got dragged along to Northern Texas by her boyfriend who travels for work. We almost didn't even go here because my boyfriend's work buddy said he usually forgets about this joint due to their sometimes-hours-long wait! We must have gotten lucky, given the recent state of the social and physical environment (pandemic and winter storm). 20 minutes after putting our names down for a table for 3, we got sat and situated with drinks and menus. Drinks: Like I said, it's a hole-in-the-wall place; so don't come here looking for a cute cocktail. I'm not even sure if they have whisky pours? But they have a big ole bucket of ice cold beers, and honestly, do you really need anything else to quench your thirst and to pair with the smorgasbord of burgers and fries you're about to consume? Food Overview: We started off with some fried mozzarella sticks for an appetizer. The basket came with ranch, which I was prepared for a marinara dipping sauce, but it was still delicious nonetheless.
