Visited the Cozy Cafe this week. I went for the mullet but like other places it seems the mullet is in high demand! We opted for the fried shrimp, fried chicken, fried okra, corn nuggets and the waffle fries! Everything was steamin hot and served really fast. As we were the only one's eating in, it was very apparent that they do most of their business as to-go. Enough of the business, down to the food!! The chicken was juicy and the crust was perfect. Just enough crunch and no wasted crusty bits! The waffle fries were to die for! I even had to share them with the wifey, which doesn't happen very often. Her shrimp was lightly battered and fried to perfection as well. The servings were extra large, meaning we got to enjoy this little gem twice in the same week! Will definitely be back. This place is NOT on the main drag so Google the directions and it'll lead you to the front door!

This is the real deal, y’all!. Down-home Southern cuisine at its finest - served up fresh in at atmosphere that is warm and welcoming. The menu includes everything you’d expect at a Southern Sunday supper - fried chicken, baked chicken and ham; collard greens, fried okra, yams, and rice with gravy. The cornbread was outstanding - crisp on the edges, moist and tender on the inside. A highlight of the menu is the fried shrimp - fresh from the Gulf, lightly battered and crisp. Save room for dessert, too - the peach cobbler was warm and sweet as a summer day.The lovingly restored commercial.building sparkles, and the staff is attentive and friendly. With a menu thats authentically Southern and a welcoming, small-town atmosphere that reflects the very best of Port St. Joe, The Cozy Cafe is sure to become the new community gathering place. You don’t want to miss this!
