Crab's Seafood Shack in Ridgeland

Went there for lunch today.  Wait staff was friendly.  Lunch specials were good (fried grouper was well liked by father in law and crab pasta was ok).  Son had shrimp Poboy.  Portions were good just not a lot of flavor.  Atmosphere was very good.  Overall a good experience.

Heard about this established restaurant that moved to a water front location so decided to try it out with our out of town guests. Upon arrival a 20 min wait didn't sound bad on a Friday night...this turned into "20 more mins" every time we checked in at the 20 Min mark.  We figured we'd visit the bar for a beverage while we waited...the bar was full of empty crab buckets and dishes from previous customers & 2 bartenders who where struggling to keep up with table orders & couldn't tend to us for a good 10 mins. I can be patient, but it would have been great, to get the "I'll be with you in a few minutes" line. On quick glance around the inside and outside, there was not enough servers, and not a single adult at the hostess stand to give us an accurate status of our wait. Every time we went up, there was a new host/hostess and they were using different order ticket pads to write down names, which was clearly confusing to them. Unfortunately we heard this was day 2 at their new location and it looked like we were not the only ones in the same boat. When we finally decided to walk out at 9:30 p.m. we weren't alone....people who had already been seated walked out due to poor service. I understand COVID hiring issues right now but training of current staff is lacking here unfortunately. I think they opened too soon! Total turnoff.

Looking for boiled shrimp, a friend recommended Crab's Seafood Shack.   I called in and the food was waiting for me.  The receptionist on the phone was most helpful. Food was very good.  You could taste the spice but it was not overwhelming the taste of the shrimp.  Potato and corn came with the shrimp. Wish there had been more potato . Excellent meal!   I will be back and I would recommend it
