The lasagna, meatballs, and Italian sausages were excellent. Sauce is great as well. The wild mushroom and walnut tortellini were disappointing as were the cookies. The tortellini were over-cooked, and only got 3 for the lunch. The cookies were dry. The cannoli was very good. Stick with the classic Italian dishes and you won't be disappointed.

I love the atmosphere. It feels very homey and family-like. Our server was great but it seemed like all employees made sure we enjoyed our meal. The food is good! I really liked the crawfish ravioli and it was a lot of food. The chicken braciolettini was really tasty. The side spaghetti is just basic with the marinara but I have no complaints. Caesar salad was tasty, a little light on the dressing but I didn't need a bunch. Loved the capers. The starter bread is something on your stomach, nothing to ride home about but a nice offer when you first sit down. I think the price is a little high for some of the more simple, standard comfort dishes but for the location and service I think it's overall a great value. I ordered the Nutella gelato, not my favorite. I also got the tiramisu togo (haven't tried it yet) but I was not in love with the presentation and super bummed it didn't have the traditional layering you find most often with tiramisu.

All in all, a huge letdown for a restaurant in the affluent Rice Village. Went here a couple days ago to try something different from my regular pizza shop. From the outside, the place looks promising with good seating and nice tables, but I was seated inside. The waiter was prompt, but not very nice. It seemed like he really had no care in interacting with us as guests. We were seated, but we found a table with no vinegar with our olive oil and bread. We ordered two pizzas, and what we got was an abomination to say the least. The pizza at D'Amico's Italian Market Cafe is nothing more than raw dough with ketchup sloppily plastered on top. The margherita pizza - a staple in any Italian restaurant, was just horrendous. It had no sauce on it and was overflowing...
