I love the food. I recommend this restaurant

Great food as always. I used to go to this restaurant when I lived in Houston back in the early to mid 90s and I still go there every time I’m in town and have consistently liked their food. I’m amazed at how affordable their pricing is in 2022. I’ve seen some reviews criticizing customer service. It is my opinion that this is a café where you order your food and then take it to your table when it’s ready. If you’re expecting a service oriented dining experience then this is not the place. I can say however that their service is always very efficient and prompt and in my experience attentive and friendly.

I have been going here since I was 8 years old and as an adult I still go back for the jujeh plate every time I am visiting Texas. The quality has never changed and the ambiance is charming with the cute fountain where you can throw a penny and make a wish. My sister and niece and nephew now go too. I love Darband Shishkabob!
