Small, but delicious menu of diner-style fare. Service was excellent and food came out very quickly. I had the derby burger with thick cut bacon--highly recommend. Also, the brisket sandwich and fresh French were a hit with the family. Finally, one of the best parts of the experience was the atmosphere and theme. The restaurant is located inside "The Shop" and features a large collection of cars that you can view before or after eating. If you're in Industrial District or Sodo, don't hesitate to enjoy a yummy bite at this place!

Randomly found the spot and decided to come because of the car aspect of it! The theme is really cool they have F1 races on the TV and the decor to look like a fancy auto shop. Definitely a good place to take car lovers or people visiting from out of town (I'll definitely be taking my dad back here). I ordered the breakfast poutine and I enjoyed it, but it does have french fries (because poutine has french fries obviously) which is definitely a different vibe than eating eggs over breakfast potatoes. So probably would not recommend if you don't want to eat French fries for breakfast xD The service was really friendly and attentive so no problems on that front and I loved how they had free parking in the lot outside. You can take a tour of the car garage which you can schedule at the front desk, or there is a public free area that you can look across the garage. I think it is also only for the members The Shop but there is a hair salon and a cigar shop in the garage which is kind of random.

This is my second time dining at Derby. Their menu is a little pricey but you get a lot of food with the main courses. We tried several items on the menu and were happy with most of them. We started out with a meatball appetizer. Although the sauce was overly spicy but very flavorful, the meatball itself didn't have any flavor. It felt like wasted calories. Liked the Brussels sprouts' flavor but was hoping for them to be a bit crispier since they were "fried". Absolutely loved the garlic fries because I'm a big fan of crispy, crunchy fries. My friends ordered the buffalo wings but said they were too spicy, even for the experienced wing-eater. Was a little disappointed with the flavor of the hush puppies. Apparently they had jalapeño in them but they basically just tasted like fried corn. More wasted calories, ha ha. I loved the poutine but wished it had a little more meat on it. If you like big, fat, chewy delicious bacon, the BLT is for you! I wasn't a fan of the soda options. Seattle Soda is a fun idea but with all the other new flavors in the food, I wish I could just have a Coca-Cola or Pepsi with my meal. I chose the root beer and just don't really like drinks made with cane sugar. Overall it was good. I would keep trying different things on the menu, though. I'm excited to see they have a brunch menu and encourage them to offer a dessert options.
