best brisket in-town! love that it's smoked in the restaurant and you can see the smoker in the restaurant.

The roll was hard and not done all the way but everything else was good.

When a friend told me that she saw a sign for "Dickey's Barbecue Pit", a name I remember from several years when I lived in Dallas, I was pretty excited. Sorry Erie, I've been here for 14 years (transplanted Texan), and y'all just don't know anything about barbecue. At all. 3B's? A disappointment after the hype...sorry again. Anyway. I was one of the first people through the door on opening day, and I've been back several times since. (It might help that they're within walking distance of my house.) I was happy to see that they're doing a pretty brisk business. Sure, once I went at the dinner rush and it took a while. But last time I went, seemed they'd worked out a lot of the bugs and what not. We've tried almost all the meats and have been well pleased. I have a real soft spot for good brisket, and Dickeys did not disappoint. Also really like the jalapeno cheese sausage. The baked potato casserole (essentially, mashed potatoes with stuff added) is my goto side. Staff was also very helpful; if I had to complain about something, it would be the soft drinks machine...it is completely impossible to operate if you're blind. (Having said that, I really like being able to get cherry vanilla diet Coke! ... I'm starting to acquire quite the collection of big yellow cups.) Oh, can't forget. Pecan pie. Lovepecan pie. Took home a whole pie last week...almost week before last. Anyway, thanks for bringing a taste of home up to Erie. It's kind of nice not having to have a good barbecue brisket shipped to me!
