itchin for some delicious and authentic chinese food in the east bay? look no further! a group of 6 of us came here on a wednesday night around 7pm for a friends birthday party and were immediately seated at a large table. the place is huge, so it's a perfect place to take a huge group of folks:) throughout our whole visit, the tea pot was never empty, as the waiters constantly came to check on us and the workers were super sweet! everything we ordered was super spot on, and although they gave us one wrong dish, they immediately took it back and even gave each of us complimentary egg tarts at the end of the night. -- -- -- pictured: " crispy chicken (half) ($15.95) // super solid dish with tender chicken paired nicely...

We used to go to Oakland Chinatown for dim sum but dim sum restaurants seem to have gone by the wayside. A friend suggested we try East Ocean in Alameda. We were pleasantly surprised and delighted by the extensive menu variety, food preparation, and food quality. Prices are reasonable. It gets crowded on weekends; weekdays are much better.
