El Amate is a hidden gem of maryland. One of the few places to give quality Tex-Salvadorian food. The best plate I recommend is the picadera. It contains everything a carnivore would love. Highly recommend this restaurant for there food and service.

The restaurant side of this place is good. Priced right and waitress Blanca was amazing. Onto the bar side of things, we came here to have a good time with co workers but quickly realized this place was run with a group of drug dealers who do the business here in the bar side. The other problem was we were dropping money left and right giving the hostesses what they deserved working so hard. Aside from that the patrons that seemed to be regulars acted like they ran this spot, grabbing the women(hostesses) as their property kissing them or at least trying too, gave a good insight on how Central Americans operate with woman. These women deserve respect and the owner should be ashamed of themselves. They need to protect them and check those patrons. Those same patrons seemed to have a back for trouble and caused a fight with a younger athletic guy and they got their asses handed to them. These guys controlled themselves and the one keeping the peace sure would have dropped a few of them himself. This places isn't what's it's cracked up to be. IF YOUR A VISITOR TO THIS AREA AVOID THIS PLACE!!!!!
