Unfortunately, with all the research I did prior to visiting, Elote Cafe did not meet my expectations of "the best Mexican restaurant in Arizona". Starting out on a positive note, everyone was very nice including the server. Although, the second most important thing is the food. We felt as if we were rushed, which I believe may have effected the quality of the meal. The steak was overcooked closer to well-done instead of medium, which made it very chewy/hard to swallow. Additionally, the lamb was somewhat dry and easily torn apart. The sauce that came with the carne asade was great, but the sauce with the lamb wasn't. Overall, I'd say this was an average experience.
