While my parents got some beer, I got some pretty solid food at Epicurean 1 before leaving Southern California! The tonkatsu sandu was super delicious and packed with different flavors and textures. When you first bite into it you get some of that soft and lucious white bread, then you get creaminess and sweetness from the sauces, and next you get that freshness, and crunchy texture from the cabbage. Finally, you bite into that crispy, filling, savory pork! All together you get a mouthful of deliciousness! The pork was a bit dry though, but overall still delicious, and the sauce made up for the dry pork. I also loved their homemade fries (or chips as I say)! They also had really good flavors and had a nice spicy sensation after each bite. Super crisp chips as well! Then, the soft serve was amazing! It was super creamy and smooth, and the brownie bits also added a nice texture. But, when you get to the bottom of the cup, you get some warm and rich chocolate brownie batter that tastes amazing with the soft serve! Overall, really solid food, and I feel like every component and ingredient worked in harmony, and that every detail in the food was well thought through! Just a great meal, and great food!

Epicurean 1 is the food hut out in front of Bottlelogic.  We had a solid wedge salad ($6) topped with lots of creamy dressing, quality cheese, tomatoes and shaved onions.  Would I drive across town for the salad?  No, but it was VERY well prepared and, with the Covid restrictions, it enabled me to have beer from one of my two favorite breweries that is DEFINITELY worth a drive across town.  They also had a sandwich, fries and two desserts.  The salad was perfect for our family to enjoy with a few beers.  For now...

I always get legitimately excited when this truck is around. Everything they make is either the best possible, exactly perfect version of a simple dish, or a cool tasty spin on something familiar. The people are talented, creative, and super nice, and of course it all works great paired with Bottle Logic's tasty brews. I can't stress enough, y'all should follow this truck around, it's the ding dang best.
