Escalante's in Houston

Went here with family, we were a large party. We had pretty good service and the food all tasted great. The carne asada was really flavorful. And we enjoyed a couple of pictures of margaritas between all the adults. I would definitely come back here again where I in the area sometime soon. The big thing for me was that they took care of our kids. It's always a great feeling when, as a parent, you can trust the staff at a restaurant to acknowledge your kids and not just ignore them because they happen to be making noise or coloring. When restaurant staff treat children like real people, that's a big deal for parents.

This would be my second time here... the first time I wasn't impressed at all, this was maybe a couple years back. This recent visit has changed that!! The hostess was nice and so was our server. Staff very attentive with drinks and chips. The food was delicious with the exception of the rice, it was a little gritty. I wonder if it's made on site.. my rice had a small piece of plastic. I would still recommend just in the service and the food. Restaurant is kept very clean.

Dear, Escalante's management, you're inability to satisfy customers is far below the standard that it should be, and as a very regular and loyal customer, I'm disappointed to say I will not be returning to this location. I ordered a to go meal to bring home to my family, so I went to the front and was greeted by a couple very helpful and kind young ladies. After I was told to wait in my car for my food to be brought to me,( for at least 20 minutes after I was told it was ready!?!?!), this snarky, long haired girl who "formally introduced herself" to me as Joeana comes out to tell me my meal is still not prepared. I explained to her how long I had been waiting, and she had a temper tantrum, screaming at me, telling me how I need to be patient as they continued to back log my order. I said fine, just bring it out whenever it is done. I started to get extremely aggravated. She finally brought my food out to me and to "greet me", she said, "here ma'am, with MAJOR attitude, and practically throws it in my passenger seat and slams the door. At this point I was incredibly angry, for I had never been this disgus...
