Having tubs and saunas is one thing. This place adds another level by manipulating your senses like Disneyland does. I feel like I'm in some enchanted forest when I'm here. At night, it feels like you're in Fantasyland or something. And the tubs all are nestled into the trees. It's an amazing place and I go once a week or more. I'm going tonight, actually.Edit: The main complaint IS the booking method. It is annoying to deal with, yes. Website probably SHOULD mention you need to reserve and it's usually high demand. Non-locals can't be expected to know this, and it will give a bad experience. That's clear in the few negative reviews here.

Get in the tub. Now. But seriously. Finnish Country Sauna & Tubs is probably the greatest thing to happen to man since the pyramids. It's an oasis in the middle of the desert. Before going, I would highly suggest making a reservation. Like I said. Oasis. In the desert. EVERYONE wants to go here. Since they're pretty much the only place in Humboldt that stays open until 1 in the morning on weekends (besides the dive bars, ew. Let's not talk about it.) it can be a bit risky to just show up and expect an opening. So if you're planning on going on a weekend night, you should probably call a day or two in advance. You can do a half hour appointment, or if you're really brave, a full hour. If you get there early enough before having to check-in you can sit by the fireplace in the cafe, or out back in their faerie garden. Yes, I said faerie garden. It's pretty magical, complete with a pond and lots of pretty greenery. Anyway, the tubs and saunas are very private. You get your own dressing room, shower, and of course, your very own hot tub or sauna. The whole experience is extremely relaxing and humbling.T...
