Been here 5 or 6 times and have never had a single bad experience or food item, ever. The gumbo is amazing, shrimp and grits 10/10, the Cajun pasta delicious, the fried chicken is great too. If you get beignets opt for the stuffed ones, the filling is to die for.

Nice atmosphere with a great selection of whiskey and bourbon. The bar is big enough to eat at. The menu is fairly limited, but the offerings are delicious and generous. I've tried 6 different things from the menu on 2 different visits, and I have not been disappointed yet.

Some family and I stopped into Flatlands Bourbon and Bayou for brunch/lunch Saturday around 12:30. There was plenty of seating without a reservation.  First glance, this joint has some super fun decor! I felt like I was sitting in NOLA. We enjoyed some cocktails, my personal favorite being the pineapple jalapeño margarita.  My mom loved her bloody mary's but my boyfriend just thought his old fashioned and sazerac were ok..he expected better for a bourbon bar.  We also enjoyed raw oysters, chargrilled oysters and rockefeller.  I personally liked the chargrilled a lot but didn't fancy the rockefeller so much.  We also had the hot crab dip which was nice to munch on.  We also had gumbo that was super tasty.  The service was alright, not good or bad.  I'll be back to enjoy this atmosphere again and try an entree next time around!
