My wife and I flew into Santa Rosa and stayed the night in Sebastopol. With high recommendations from our hotel manager, we decided to try “The Flavor Bistro”. It was late at night and we could not catch a ride to the restaurant. I called anyway. The owner of the business took our order and I told him we were stuck on how to get this delivered. He said he would find a way. This man showed up at our hotel room with our orders and a complimentary bottle of fantastic wine! As I reached for my wallet, he vanished down the hallway saying, “it’s on me tonight”. He was the kindest man I had ever met. If I had the chance, I would eat at his restaurant every chance I had. My hat is off to Charles, the man who made our evening magical!P.S. The food was outstanding!!!

I don't know where to begin. The entire experience was five stars plus. Service was great, bread with olive oil and herbs was a warm up. We ordered the harvest salad and the salmon fish of the day. Amazing flavors..

DREAMS REALLY DO COME TRUE! After the magnificent Flavor Bistro closed in Santa Rosa, I felt I had lost a best friend. There was nowhere else that offered such wonderful food, wine, friendship and Outright Fun. I was in despair. But now, it has returned in all its glory. Decked out in hanging lights and bright, warm colors that make you feel alive and never want to leave, it is in Sebastopol. The food is all massively flavored but yet complex. It is a cuisine to be savored, enjoyed and even listened to as it says, "Isn't it great to be alive." Nowhere is there is not a false note -- but then, the pasta, the bread and even the ice cream are all made in-house, so are unique. The crab cakes, as a starter, are like no others, in that they are juicy, full of crab NOT bread fillers and topped with a wonderful frill of French fried, sweet potato curls. Of course, the mussels and smoked salmon are also real joys. The salads with beautifully splayed grilled prawns are to die for. The pastas are a "sauce lovers" life fulfilled. The burgers (home ground meat only) are "the best of the best" and still affordable. The short ribs -- so moist, so unctuous -- are a hundred smiles guaranteed, and they, like many dishes and wines, come in small and large portions, so you can make a night of trying them. Still too, there is Molly's Middle Eastern chicken and the pork chop with parmesan potatoes that promise to be new friends. Finally, the creme brulee is a mirror lake you will want to wallow in and never leave, the caramelized apple galette is a Wow, and the Bamba, an ice-cream-must that will make the...
