I guess I’m just not a fan of healthy food. I ordered the chicken strip dinner and it was “interesting”. I did manage to eat the entire meal. To be fair, however both my sister and her husband love the food here. My brother in law even has a credit card that’s linked so he gets points for eating there. They are both really into healthy living and really enjoy the diversity in the meals they provide.

Good food and treats

Although the food was undeniably delicious, I remembered why I don't often frequent Flying Star Cafe. Plain and simple - sticker shock. I ordered a build your own omelet and a coffee. My bill was over $17. I ended up paying just over $20 with a tip. I asked for extra crispy bacon, cheese and both red and green chile smothered over the top with more cheese plus some avocado slices. Again, the food was very tasty. I have zero complaints as to the taste. I have a hard time paying THAT much for an omelet and coffee. This is a problem in general with any of their prices. Their food is generally pretty good but I think they would draw more customers with an improvement in their pricing. I hear this complaint from lots of friends. My wife went there to meet a client the other day and ended up paying, if I recall correctly, something like $9 for a scone. If this was a Michelin star rated restaurant then I could see charging those kinds of prices but that is not the case. Obviously plenty of others disagree and give them their business but I have to wonder why.
