I hate to leave a bad review but it seems like the only time I am motivated to do so is when I have had a terrible experience. Human nature I guess but at least I am aware of it. Super bummed on Gambrettis. Our friends liked it so we went there for a second time. Got the Chicken parmesan. It was good, honestly not nearly as good as my wife or I could make but still good and we didn't have to make it! I had two super young IPA's(block 15 they all taste the same) and we had a bunch of appetizers. We had a good time and got the bill and paid it. We sat around talking about past experiences and decided to get a shot for my friend and I while our wives refrained. I pulled out money and ordered the two shots and and they said great. It was not busy at all and after 15-20 minutes of us sitting there waiting for these two shots we asked about them again. The waitress claimed that her boss said not to serve us anymore. Might have been polite to tell us as we were all done and waiting for the celebratory shots before we left. MY friend and my wives were driving and we were just sitting and waiting. We were not loud or obnoxious or anything nor had they complained to us at all this was insane. I weigh 250lbs and had 2 watered down ipa's over 2.5 hours and ate a whole plate of food. It would have been insulting if they had cut me off when I ordered the tequila shots but to have them take the order and then never again address us until we had to ask them again about it is beyond reprisal. Both of us own businesses in the area and understand what customer service means to the success of an enterprise but apparently they could care less. For me I never really cared for the food so I don't have to go back but our friends ate there often, really...
Thought we would try the Albany location because it is closer to home and since Salem was so good, big mistake. Ordered the Alfredo and the fettuccini had big clumps of noodles stuck together, I was going to overlook the too thick alfredo sauce and the way the noodles stuck together but could not ignore the clumps of pasta. The Chicken parm and lasagna were almost as disappointing. It is so difficult to find decent food at restaurants in our area. Basic cooking of Italian food was not demonstrated on this visit, too bad we won't be returning to see if it gets better. The only reason for 2 stars was because the server was great.
