Gangnam Style in Houston

Foodies, this is a must try, if you want some uniquely different Chinese food. The name was what kept us from trying this place for a while...Wow. Very happy we gave it a try! The chef is from Wuxi China, a place known for its fine cuisine. The food is not like spicy Sichuan and salty/sweet Cantonese. It's quite light and requires high quality ingredients as well as cooking techniques / usual more pricey even in China. The shuiiing (crystal?) shrimp is a must try. Jicai rice cake is the best I've had. Cold appetizer with the smoke fish. Marinated Pork Ribs Wu Xi Pork Ribs is also very good. We will be back!

Food is excellent.  Wuxi style fish and ribs.  Spicy stuff but a special taste for those not yet having Wuxi.  Chrysanthemum tea!

I found this restaurant through Yelp and it turned out to be a great pick. Originally I was thrown off by the name.  It's neither a Korean restaurant or a badly named Asian fusion restaurant. Gangnam Style Restaurant is an authentic restaurant run by a nice Chinese lady who I'm assuming thought it would be memorable name since the song was so popular.  They speak Mandarin, Cantonese and English here. The service is very friendly and a lot of the customers I saw on the day I came appear to be regulars. I ordered the braised pork belly and fried green beans. The braised pork belly was very delicious. It wasn't the best braised pork belly I've had in Houston but it was quite good. The meat could have been cooked until it was more tender but the sauce and flavors were excellent.  The friend green beans were perfectly cooked and probably one of the best I've had in a long time.  Rice is included with the dishes. I really enjoyed this restaurant and intend on returning!  Check it out, you won't be disappointed.
