Golden Lily Foods in Alexandria

This is a great place to get a meal! Breakfast or lunch! I used to go here a lot before and have since moved. This is a great little establishment for when you need a quick bite to eat or if you need to see a friendly face to brighten your day. As you can see, I am a fan of both the food and the service. This is a very small place that not too many people know about other than those who work around the area.  When I started to eat there a few years ago there wasn't much but since I have been there last they seemed to have made big strides in introducing new food. My favorite foods to eat there are the cheese steaks and the reubens.  Man are they good! I have never had a bad cheese steak or reuben from here. Everything is prepared fresh and you can tell, they don't skimp. The breakfast is pretty good too, a good pick-me-up, at very reasonable prices. But i always like their lunch. Recently they put out some buffet items, which are simple items but still fill you up. They have even stared to introduce some vietnamese options like summer rolls. I wish I still worked close by so I could test more of their items. The service is one of the best I have seen. The owners are a mom and pop who really care about their customers. This mom and pop establishment is okay. I rated them two stars because there is nothing great about this place. It's one of those spots where you go to it because it's very close as far as walking distance. The inside is very small, very! Their food isn't bad, they just don't season any of their foods when they prepare it and when cooking it. If you want flavor, you either better have your own seasonings or ask them to put onions, cheese, pickles, etc! You get the point I'm trying to make. Other than that, their food is always fresh, at least it has been since I've been going there. I don't mind the food not having any seasoning on it, but that's just me. There's nothing I love more in this deli than their cheesesteak. They make everything fresh, fast, healthy and delicious. They have a variety of chips, drinks and snacks for a fair price. The only con is there is no place to sit, I guess it is more of a take out place. Before going to McDonald's or some kind of fast food restaurant definitely consider coming here.
