Another average restaurant in the bog of averageness that pervades the Landry's restaurant empire. The restaurant neither shows passion nor imagination in the food that it serves (which is quite generic).Location: 5/5 Good location near the Galleria.Service: 5/5 The staff is wonderful - from the perks of valet parking, to those at the front desk who were very accommodating of my request to change my original reservation time, to the waitstaff. They were all very good and made us feel welcome.Ambience: 3/5 The ambience seems dated and has the vibes of a convention center or a lower-end cruise dining hall that uses decor from the 80's or 90's. That description is also fitting because the floor space is huge and the place does have a hall for private events. The over-the-top light fixtures, the murals depicting stereotypes of Italian life, the bright colored rug and seating options, and the large Italian words emblazoned on the walls : all give the impression of kitsch. It is clearly a popular as the place and was quite packed when we arrived for a late Friday dinner. The noise was quite loud and at first we were struggling to hear each other.Food: 2/5 We took the suggestions of the waiter and ordered the following-Bread:...

We went for a late lunch or early supper to celebrate Grandma's birthday. Arriving around 2:30 pm on Monday, the cheerful and airy dining room was quiet as one might expect. Our party of four was greeted and seated immediately. Let me say right away that our server was great from start to finish -- always attentive and never intrusive, clearly familiar with the entire menu. We asked for his recommendations throughout the meal, and were very pleased, so I will be looking for him next time. Also, he went above and beyond by serving grandma's dessert with a birthday candle; which caused all of the patrons and servers to join in singing Happy Birthday! To get things started we ordered a plate of Mussels in a garlicky tomato broth for the table. The ladies both ordered the $25 prix fixe Business Lunch Special, which includes (1) choice of salad or cup of tomato basil soup (2) one of four entrees, and (3) mezzanote, which is a dark chocolate ganache cake. The men both ordered Pollo Francese which is a pounded and breaded chicken breast covered with artichoke, mushrooms, lemon, white wine, and accompanied...
(1-8-22) We visited Grottos at 4715 Westheimer, Houston, Texas. At 16:29 Hours, we chose to have dinner and ordered entrees and Lemon Drop Martinis. Food was ambrosial and, the service was superior. Edgar demonstrated professionalism and all with a SMILE. He was attentive, prompt, and actually listened to the customer. We had a 5 star service coupled with the fantastic Italian tastes that Grottos delivers to its customers. We will return soon and will ask for EDGAR.
