Hamlin Market and Deli in Seattle

Ummm, is something different about the Hamlin Market Deli? I had not been there in about a year and was looking so forward to my old regular order which was either an All American or a veggie Reuben sandwich.  A human Pavlovian response! I opted for the former and it did look and feel a little different upon opening i. As soon as I took the first bite I knew that a change had occurred, and I am hoping that the new owners can continue to strive for the old success story.that  the owners that I knew must be gone. No calling out the orders, no perceived care or interest in the product (it seemed to me), and some challenging customer service behaviors left me a little bummed. I liked the sandwich but not sure I'll go back.

This market is right by my office and my co-workers and I have been regulars for years, since it opened. The Hamlin Buffalo sandwich was the best! Unfortunately, the market must have new owners, since we haven't seen Brian, and the deli is not the same quality. The women at the counter laughed and looked annoyed when I ordered. I asked why, and she complained that they just used the last of that meat and would now have to slice more. I  tried to be polite and replied that it must be because it is so good. She continued to be rude and inconvenienced that I was buying something from her business. I should have just left. Last week I ordered wheat bread as usual, but discovered when I returned to my office that they put it on a hoagie. Not only is this only a preference issue, but also a dietary tolerance issue. I LOVE this place. I live right across from Hamlin Market and Deli and I'm so lucky this is the corner market in my neighborhood. They always have whatever little item I need to pick up at the last second, including groceries, frozen foods, fresh foods, wine and beer and general home supplies. And they make amazing food and coffee, too! They have a large selection of made to order sandwiches prepared using fresh and high quality ingredients and tea and coffee beverages. The place is family run and they are all very friendly and great at getting to know their regular customers.
