We met with friends at this place for a meeting. we heard about this place from a lot of people. Well, it was a winning. we were warmly welcomed by the staff members and we had an excellent feeling. The meal was delicious. We loved this place a lot and we will visit this place again. we highly recommend this place.

We came here on a whim, and found the decor slightly garish. They have so few customers now, and most of the people (including the staff) were Asians. We had almost the entire area to ourselves! Service: Pretty good, though the waitress seemed a bit out of her depth. We got seated as soon as we got in the door, and handed water and menus when we sat down. Food: I ordered the soba and tempura. The soba was very, very delicious. The tempura was okay. It came with a side of miso soup. My dad ordered Miso Ramen, and it rather seemed like some poor fellow had thrown too-soft noodles into a miso soup that didn't even taste Japanese. The funny thing is that the side of miso soup that came with my soba was DELICIOUS. Overall, I would say that the experience was between meh and okay. If I could give it 3.5 stars, I feel that would be more accurate. Service was pretty good, food was okay, and the vibe was more "locals only" and rustic. Really, Hanashima Restaurant is a hit or miss for every item on its menu. You either like it or dislike it. I would recommend it only for those who are familiar with Japanese food and is okay with wasabi, sashimi and such.
