Hard Knox Pizzeria in Knoxville

Wow!!! The Bonecrusher just crushed me. What a pizza. This is our new favorite pizza place in Knoxville. We have been coming here for about a year and each new pizza each time is spectacular. They nail the brick cooked pizza thing. Don't miss out. We won't.

As a connoisseur of fine pizza, when I moved to knoxville I made it my mission to begin tasting every pizza spot in the city. 12 in, and I made a discovery- hard Knox pizzeria. Not since my time in New York City have my taste buds been graced by a pizza sauce the way hard Knox graced my buds that one fateful night. My philosophy in pizza review is to keep it simple to truly understand the essence of a pizza establishment; meaning cheese or pepperoni only. This creates a control group where a pizza place is not judged on its toppings, but on the cooks mastery of the pizza craft. The crust was immaculate- thin with a crispy outer layer from the brick oven right inside the doors. The mozzarella, I have to assume, was homemade or at least from a fine supplier- the grease was minimal which indicates a high quality mozzarella. The only complaint I have upon this now sacred spot is that the decor was captivating and industrial; however, the acoustics caused the interior to be louder than what would be preferable. I will never forget the night I first entered the boxing ring with a hard Knox pie.
