What's crispy, fluffy, yet juicy on the inside? A waffle dog! I haven't had a waffle dog since my high school days and I remember always splitting it with my tennis teammates. It was a must-get whenever we saw it at events. Fast forward to 6 years later and I'm reunited with my waffle dog! They were catering at my friend's birthday party so we got to eat it hot and fresh. I used to eat it plain because I was always on the go but this time I got to try out their different condiments. They have your basic ketchup, and maple syrup for people who love their sweet and savory. The condiment I kept going back to was their special sauce! It's a garlic mustard blend and it was delicious. Honestly, anything that has garlic has my heart. I really wanted the bottle for myself but sadly I had to share it with my friends -sigh- They were a great decision for catering because waffle dogs were the perfect hangover food and seemed like the healthier alternative to chips. Hit them up for all your party needs!

I first tried Hawaiian Waffledog at an ETS event a handful of years ago during a garlic themed event and I remember their garlic mustard. I'm stoked the recipe hasn't changed and that they still offer it as a condiment. This time I tried it with Kevin's recommendation of mixing it with the maple syrup and it was even better. I personally always want the brown, crispy waffledogs. Don't pass this booth!

I first tried a waffle dog when I was in high school, about 5-6 years ago. Yesterday at Eat the Street Kakaako (August 29, 2014) I came across Hawaiian Waffledog Company. I decided to get one. I had one with just mustard. I ate it while walking around and before we left I went back and got two more. The workers were so nice! And the taste is great! You have a choice of condiments like the popular spicy garlic mustard, syrup, or regular hot dog toppings like ketchup and regular mustard. Just the combination of waffle and hot dog is different but so good! I'm so hooked on the waffledogs from this company that I looked up today where I could get some more. Luckily my dad was in town because he went to Hilo Hattie on Nimitz for me to get me more! So now every time I drive past I will definitely have to get me some! It's so worth it!!
