Dont get me wrong, the food is pretty good at this place but the hospitality is severely lacking. They mistreat their employees in front of customers and then also treat the customers poorly. It's hardly worth the food experience. To top it off they will force you to get entrees for every person. I understand table space can be limited during busy times and it's not great for business to have a table sitting around not ordering. However our last visit happened mid-afternoon when only 2 tables were occupied and we stopped by for some appetizers on the way to a show. Rather than checking on the table, the owner proceeds to give us the third degree and pestering us to order more and telling us this isn't allowed. After ordering additional, they bring out the wrong food. When we ask for the food we ordered, they proceed to demean staff claiming they don't speak English and screwed the order up. One of the owners herself took and put in the order. To top it off they auto tip for even small parties after horrendous attitude and service. The owners need to understand the customers make their business and some decades old publicity from the Houston chronicle or TV personalities dont give you a hall pass to treat ev...
Horrible Food Terrible customer service. Ordered food to go and was given the wrong order. Nearly impossible to reach by phone and extremely unhelpful

This restaurant has terrible customer service problem, owner refuse to honor their online order system, ChowNOW menu is out of sync with restaurant menu. Owner has no concern to cheat customers. He refuse to ensure their Online Ordering Menu is out of sync. As per ChowNow, Vegetable Biryani should have Paneer, we placed for steep $15.86 plus service charge etc. Restaurant gave us Patel's Vegetable Biryani which is nothing but Potato curry and rice and it should have been $13.55. So they charged higher price of $15.86 and gave us terrible/wrong Biryani which should have been only $13.55 and not to mention I didn't care for Potato curry. I contacted Himalaya Restaurant, typical Soup-Nazi style mindset owner refuse to take responsibility for their mess-up. If ChowNow menu is out of sync, who is responsible? Shouldn't restaurant take the responsibility? I contacted Himalaya Restaurant and ChowNOW, both don't take responsibility. Nasty service, don't put up with real life soup-Nazi attitude!
